What is my case worth?
Every personal injury case is different, and the value of a settlement or verdict depends on a variety of factors. The plaintiff can typically be compensated for medical and rehabilitation costs, loss of wages (including any future impairment of earning capacity), physical pain and suffering (past and future) and emotional distress. In some cases, it may be possible to file for punitive damages to penalize the defendant for his or her actions, and in the event of a wrongful death, the victim’s family may be able to obtain compensation for funerary costs, pain and suffering, and loss of companionship.
