General Motors Faces Another Case Regarding Defects

Earlier this year, General Motors Co., the Detroit-based automaker, successfully won two civil cases involving their defective ignition switches. However, on August 9th, GM came under fire again after a teenager charged with manslaughter claimed the auto accident was actually caused by the same defect.

Katie Ray, the teenager’s legal counsel, said in a statement to the jury, “This crash was not caused by a reckless 19-year-old but by a defect GM admits existed.”
