A 26-year-old Mason City, Illinois woman is facing charges of misdemeanor driving under suspension, driving without required court-ordered insurance, and leaving the scene of a personal injury crash. The charges come after her role in an accident that occurred at approximately 1:00 a.m. last Sunday, October 23 on Fir Avenue, located just north of 275th Street in Clear Lake.
According to the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office deputies, when they arrived at the scene of the accident, they found a 20-year-old female, who was the owner of the car that fell in the creek. Authorities said the driver, who they identified as a 26-year-old Mason City woman, a 19-year-old Mason City female resident, and two other people, had already left before law enforcement arrived.
