A 41-year-old woman from Janesville, Iowa was seriously injured when the car she was driving collided with a train at a crossing north of Janesville on Friday, October 14.
According to a report from The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier, the woman’s car was hit by a freight train owned by Montreal-based Canada National Railway Co. According to Bremer County Sheriff Dan Pickett, the crossing is barricaded by a yield sign. The woman was transported to a hospital in Waterloo and later on, was moved to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City to receive medical attention for wounds that were considered serious but non-life-threatening.
