The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced on Wednesday, September 30 that 65-year-old television personality and retired Olympics decathlon runner Caitlyn Marie Jenner will face no charges in connection to a fatal four-vehicle accident that took place on February 7, 2015, on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, California.
In a charge evaluation worksheet, prosecutors stated that they couldn’t find evidence that Jenner’s driving at the time of the incident had been negligent, and as such, they didn’t file misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter charges in the case.
According to Jenner’s legal counsel, the decision was a welcome development, noting that they “believed from the start that a thorough and objective investigation would clear Caitlyn of any criminal wrongdoing.”
