A six-vehicle accident that occurred at around 11:30 a.m. on February 25 resulted in the death of one North Iowa woman, KIMT reported.
Recent updates to the story included a complicated police deduction of the spiraling events. The vehicles involved were traveling eastbound near mile marker 193. Police were merging traffic to the left lanes due to a previous accident. The blue semi-truck followed a vehicle in merging, but the truck driver was unable to slow at the same rate and hit the car in front of him. After a series of smaller collisions, a second semi-truck, the red Kenworth, hit the fatal victim‘s car twice.
According to preliminary investigations, the vehicles that were involved in the crash were identified as a Dodge Grand Caravan, a blue Peterbilt semi pulling a tanker, a red Kenworth semi, a Chrysler Town & Country, a Nissan Altima, and a Chevrolet pickup.
Police authorities are continuing to investigate this tragic accident.
