A couple who resided in Decorah, Iowa was killed in a two-vehicular accident a few miles east of Cresco on the morning of June 6, The Des Moines Register reported.
The car collision occurred at the intersection of Iowa Highway 9 and Highway 139. According to an Iowa State Patrol report, a vehicle struck the passenger side of the elderly couple’s car – both man and woman were over 80-years-old.
The couple was making their way west through the intersection at Highway 9 when the other vehicle, driven by a 75-year-old resident of Ridgeway, clipped their car as it headed south on Highway 139. The intersection involved stop signs. Reports did not indicate whether either of the vehicles failed to stop and yield to the other.
The elderly couple was brought to Cresco Hospital where they succumbed to their mortal injuries. The other driver was taken to the same hospital, although his condition was not made clear in reports.
