People ask me what I like to do in my free time. One of the things that I really enjoy is gardening. I say “the dirt doesn’t talk back.” When you’re in a contentious environment day to day, it’s kind of nice to put the shovel in the dirt or plant something and get your hands dirty.
It’s pretty rewarding. It’s also challenging. Sometimes, just like in a court case, you have an adversary. For example, I think I coined the phrase “a law degree is no match for a hungry rabbit” because no matter how clever you think you are in protecting your vegetables, a hungry rabbit can be a pretty formidable foe.
