Bicyclist Critically Wounded in Loveland Hit and Run

|

Forty-year-old Fort Collins, Colorado resident Jeffrey Wicks was riding his bicycle at the intersection of North Taft Avenue and West 29th Street in Loveland, Iowa the morning of June 14 when he collided with a car, the Reporter-Herald stated.

The vehicle that reportedly hit Wicks was a white Mazda sedan driven by 72-year-old Des Moines resident Peggy Brown, a press release from the Loveland police stated. According to Sergeant Justin Chase, Brown turned left on West 29th Street in front of Wicks as he was riding his bike south in the 2900 block of North Taft Avenue, and Wicks bumped into the back of Brown’s vehicle. Brown stopped after the collision but left the scene of the accident within minutes. She was arrested for leaving an accident after an injury and careless driving.
