Seven-Vehicle Pileup in Eastern Iowa Injures Two People

According to reports, on Wednesday, July 23 shortly before 7 a.m., a car was seen driving north in the southbound lanes of Interstate 380 in eastern Iowa. This vehicle eventually caused a seven-vehicle pileup near Diagonal Drive that injured two people.

Police said that the driver who caused the seven-vehicle crash was in his 70’s. Police investigations are underway to determine whether or not the elderly driver was suffering from an emergency condition at the time of the accident.

After the accident, the elderly driver and another victim were transported to the hospital where their injuries were treated. Interstate 380’s right lane was opened to the public by 7:52 a.m. while the other lanes were opened at around 8:14 a.m.
