Four 14-year-olds were killed while riding in a John Deere Gator utility vehicle when a pickup truck collided with them, The Des Moines Register reported on August 4.

The victims were identified as Pesota resident Sean Kenneally, Dyersville local Nicholas Kramer, and Epworth teens Mitchell Kluesner and Bryce Wilwert. The driver of the truck, on the other hand, was identified as Holy Cross resident Joe Connelly. Connelly, 24, was not injured, although two of the truck’s passengers sustained minor injuries.

The accident occurred near Epworth in eastern Iowa. According to authorities, the pickup truck, which was hauling a stock trailer, ran a stop sign just before hitting the boys. The John Deere Gator is open with two seats and intended as a multi-terrain work vehicle.
