On October 15, the FDA announced a recall of an antibiotic made by B. Braun Melsungen, a German pharmaceutical company.
The defective product, lot H3A7444 of the company’s Cefepime for Injection USP and Dextrose Injection USP, may cause blood clots, stroke, and heart problems.
Patients who have been treated with this injectable antibiotic are advised to contact B. Braun at 1-800-854-6851 to have their condition assessed immediately.
