The Cedar Falls Police, assisted by the Iowa State Patrol, are investigating a road accident involving a motorcycle and a flatbed straight truck that occurred in Cedar Falls, Iowa on Thursday, June 13 at around 7:40 a.m., injuring a woman.
According to Police Chief Jeff Olson, the accident occurred at the Big Woods and Lone Tree roads in the North Cedar area of Cedar Falls. Both vehicles were headed east when the truck’s driver made a U-turn without yielding, causing the motorcycle and truck to collide.
Trina Cheever, the 48-year-old driver of the motorcycle, was taken to Allen Hospital in Waterloo for treatment of major injuries before being transferred to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
The flatbed truck was driven by 42-year-old Anthony Wendling of Waterloo, who was given a citation for failure to yield while making a U-turn.
