Police were led on a high-speed chase Tuesday afternoon after a 15-year-old Iowa boy stole a car in Burlington. When an officer attempted to pull him over, the teen sped off down Highway 61.
According to WHOtv, the car was traveling at 110 mph. The pursuit went from Des Moines to Lee County until the driver lost control trying to get on to X-23. He and his passenger fled on foot but were found shortly after.
Both suspects confessed to stealing the car. The 15-year-old driver has been charged with reckless driving, speeding, driving without a driver’s license, driving without insurance, eluding a police officer, and interfering with official acts. His 21-year-old passenger was charged with interfering with official acts.
