An Iowa State Patrol trooper suffered minor injuries yesterday when a semi-truck collided with his patrol car on the entrance ramp of U.S. 20 and Interstate 35.
The trooper was assisting another officer at the scene of a car accident when the collision occurred. The trooper and a driver involved in the first crash were inside the cruiser and taken to a hospital in Webster City with non-life-threatening injuries.
High winds and heavy slush on the roads resulted in poor visibility, but it has not been determined whether those factors contributed significantly to the accident. Authorities are still investigating the crash.
