An estimated 248,000 lunch boxes are being recalled over freezer gel leaking from the freezer gel pack.
California Innovations, Inc. and the Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the voluntary recall this week. The product in question is the three-piece insulated and expandable Ci Sport lunch box set, which came with an aluminum bottle and freezer gel pack.
The company received two reports of dogs ingesting the gel from the freezer packs and becoming ill. One dog died as a result.
The lunch boxes were sold in Costco, Leon Korol, and Cost U Less stores from May 2007 to September 2008. Consumers can return the product to Costco for a full refund.
