Lawsuit Planned against Nursing Home after Video of Abuse Surfaces

|

The family of a 78-year-old woman who was staying at a nursing home in Pennsylvania is now suing the nursing home after videos of the caretakers abusing the woman surfaced.

The woman was staying at a nursing home that was part of Sunrise Senior Living, Inc. She had told her family about the abuse, but the home told the family that the woman’s dementia was causing her to think she was being abused. Later, a video was found that showed three employees of the home beating and ridiculing the woman.

Following the release of the video, the three employees were fired, and the home’s operating license was revoked. The home is seeking an appeal to have its license reinstated.
