A man from Ocheyedan was injured in an Iowa car accident Thursday.
According to officials with the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred shortly after 5:20 p.m. on Harding Avenue, about one and a half miles north of Rock Rapids. Police say 31-year-old Benjamin J. Perry was traveling north on Harding Avenue when he lost control of his 1999 GMC Suburban for unknown reasons. The vehicle rolled several times before coming to rest on its roof.
Perry was ejected from the vehicle in the crash. He was transported by ambulance to Sanford Medical Center in Rock Rapids for treatment. He was later flown by helicopter to Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, where is listed in serious condition.
