Two dozen children sustained minor injuries in an Iowa bus accident Friday morning.
According to officials with the Des Moines Police Department, a school bus collided with a sedan shortly after 10:00 a.m. on East 6th Street near Interstate 235. Police say the school bus was from the Stratford district.
According to the crash report, a white sedan drove into the path of the school bus as it headed west on 6th Street. No citations have been issued in connection with the accident.
Police say two dozen elementary school students were on board the bus at the time of the accident. None of the children were seriously injured, but three rescue crews were called to the scene of the crash to treat minor injuries.
The accident remains under investigation by the Des Moines Police Department.
