Cyclist killed in truck accident

According to the Iowa State Patrol, an accident with a truck near the city of Montezuma in central Iowa left a bicyclist from Oregon dead this Wednesday.

The 33-year-old bicyclist was pedaling on Iowa Highway 85 when the truck driver spotted him. The driver moved towards the centerline to give the cyclist more room.

It was then that the truck’s front right tire failed, causing the truck to lurch to the right. It hit the cyclist, killing him instantly.
