An eastern Iowa man was sentenced to 25 years in prison last week for his role in a crash that resulted in the paralyzing of his passenger.
The accident took place on October 5, 2009. The 36-year-old driver of the truck was intoxicated and lost control of the vehicle, striking a light pole.
His 32-year-old passenger was paralyzed from the neck down and about a week after the accident chose to end his life support upon learning that he was paralyzed.
