A two-car accident on Highway 30 sent multiple people to the hospital in the morning hours of August 18.
The accident occurred as an 18-year-old man was driving a Buick LeSabre on 73rd street with one 18-year-old passenger in the front seat when he was struck head-on by a 22-year-old woman when his vehicle crossed the center line.
Emergency crews had to use the Jaws of Life in order to extricate the two drivers out of the car. The drivers and all of their passengers, a total of six people, were all transported to the hospital. The highway was closed for nearly two hours while emergency crews worked.
