Bicyclist injured in Iowa City hit-and-run

According to Iowa City Police, an adult male bicyclist was struck by a car around 2:12 p.m. yesterday at the intersection of Jefferson and Johnson Streets.

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene. The cyclist described the vehicle as new silver, four-door, Pontiac Grand Am.

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying this hit-and-run driver. The car sustained passenger side damage from the collision, including a broken passenger side window.

The cyclist was taken to Mercy Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
