The risk of riding escalators

Escalators are large and expensive machines that are used in building around the world. While these machines seem complex, they are simply a large version of a basic conveyor belt. 

The belt works by a series of rotating chain loops, which pull the escalator stairs. Although the design of escalators is fairly simple, they are still dangerous because of their large size and frequent use.
