On Tuesday, a couple was in a small boat on the Des Moines River when they went over the Center Street Dam. According to reports, the couple was looking for a spot to take their children for the 4th of July.
When the boat went over the dam, a construction worker who was suspended from a crane was able to hang onto the wife, saving her. However, the husband went over and was pronounced dead when his body was pulled from the river.
